Appeals from the Municipal Court are very complicated; we recommend you consult with an attorney. If you choose to represent yourself, you are bound by the same rules and procedures as an attorney. It is the responsibility of the Defendant to obtain the necessary information to complete the appeal process. Find information about appealing a Municipal Court case. (Follow the link “How do I appeal a case in a municipal or city court?”) Fruita Municipal Court charges the following fees: • Appeal processing fee $10 • Appeal bond (amount is set by Municipal Judge) • Copies 0.25 per page (8 1/2 x 11) • Copies 0.50 per page (11 x 17) • Transcript fee (see attached Transcript Request Form) By law, court staff is not allowed to give instructions regarding appeals.
